The girls and their birds won!

The girls did great with their award winning birds!

The Guinea won Peoples Choice and Grand Champion of Guinea Fowl. This may have had something to do with the fact that we had the only Guinea...but hey, Cindy did choose a unique entry so all in all she did earn it.

The Mallard won Best in Breed, 1st Place, and Emily won Junior Champion.

The Harlequin won Best in Breed, Variety and 1st Place.

Ribbons, ribbons, ribbons! Rob and I are the proudest parents! Go girls.

On top of the amazing fun and awards we managed to bring home a new member...a mate for Bruce our pigeon. They are doing great and we hope to have babies come spring.

Update on Guinea Fowl, Ducks, and Chickens!

Today is sooooo hot I am going to wait until the sun lets up a little before I do any work out doors.

This morning we made a place outdoors to keep the guinea fowl, it is time for it to live outside. He/she now has all of its feathers in and is probably still only a fourth of it full grown size. I'm thinking we are not going to enter it in the fair this year due to it not being old enough.

As for the ducks, they are great. They love their kiddy pool pond and are really beautiful. One is a female Harlequin and the other a female Mallard. They are being entered this year and I will update when the fair is over.

The chickens are getting a full rennovation on their home. I am going to create an easier way to collect eggs and a perching area for them to roost in comfort. Bruce, our pigeon, really misses his girls. We removed him from the chickens due to them pecking at this tail feathers. Now that he is all healed I think we are going to leave him in with the ducks, it's just safer.

There is the update! Have a cool summer, don't over do in the heat!
